What is a typical Gathering like at Compelled?
One of our values is exciting and meaningful worship so we spend the first portion of our gathering time singing together. Focusing our hearts and minds on how amazing God is to us. We also value relationships and coffee, following our time of singing we take a couple minutes to say hello to a few friends and catch up on how life is going. This is also a perfect time to get a refill on your coffee before we move into the message portion of the gathering. To wrap it all up we take some time to look into the word of God, Pastor Nate will share a few words, or a lot of words if he drank too much coffee.
What does multiple locations mean?
We are one church in multiple locations. It’s amazing to think that when we gather together on a Sunday morning, the Compelled church family is located in two different cities represented by hundreds of people worshiping at the same time. In 2012 we launched Compelled Holland. Lead Pastor Nate Elarton sets the vision and gives overall leadership for Compelled church, while Pastor Matt Reinhart leads and helps oversee the ministries at our Holland location. Whether you land at Bedford or Holland, you will experience the same message, live worship and amazing kids ministry every weekend.
What should I wear?
Anything you want! We are pretty relaxed around here. From shorts to jeans, T-shirts to ties, it’s all good. There is no dress code at Compelled, show up in what you feel comfortable in and we will be happy to have you.
Are you part of a fellowship or denomination?
We are an Assemblies of God church. The assemblies is a cooperative fellowship that allows each church to act autonomously when deciding on vision and function as long as we agree to the 16 doctrinal statements. To find out more about the Assemblies of God, check out the website here.
What do I do with my kids?
You can drop off your kids at the Kids Ministry Check-in located at the Family Entrance at the south side of the building. If you have babies, the nursery is located just before you enter the Worship Center. There is a separate check-in station for the nursery.
What do you do for the rest of the world?
We are a church consumed with a missional heart. We have missions opportunities to many places within the United States as well as overseas trips, we encourage everyone to be a part. We also give monthly to help fund over 50 missionaries located all around the world, and of course we love to serve right here in our own community.
